Zierikzee

Zierikzee is a quaint little harbourtown in the south of the Netherlands. On May 11, 2019 it celebrated the 800th birthday of its citycharter. The town existed already some 200 years before that so it is more than a thousand years old!!!
For the celebration the whole town was dressed up in medieval garb. Some even had applied make-up as if touched by leprosy. Some barbers, dentists (same profession in those days), chemists, blacksmiths, guardsmen, singers (minstrels) were all doing their thing.
